Approval of Minutes from June Meeting

Moore‐Arcand made a motion, Clarke seconded to approve the minutes of the June 21, 2017 Parks
Commission meeting as presented.

All Ayes. Motion carried.

2. Comprehensive Plan Update

Kendra Lindahl and Mary Matze from Landform, Inc were in attendance to provide the Parks Commission
with updates and developments on the 2040 Compressive Plan. Matze shared with the Commissioners the
responses gathered from the public at the August 8, 2017 Parks Open House which was held to gain an
understanding of the public’s priorities for park development. Responses showed that trails, safe trail
connections, and active recreation amenities are important and that land acquisition isn’t a top priority.
With attendance at the open house being low, a new online survey will be posted for residents providing
them with an additional opportunity to share their ideas.

Using input gathered from prior meetings and open houses a draft of the Parks, Trails and Open Space
Chapter has been prepared. Key updates contained in the draft include that information is more organized,
there are clearly defined guiding principles, and updated location criteria has been added.
