EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br />The 2020 Goodview Avenue Improvement Project consists of roadway improvements on Goodview <br />Avenue North from the southern city border to Egg Lake Road/137t" Street/County Road 8. A map <br />illustrating the project location is shown on Figure 1 in Appendix A. <br />Improvements throughout the project include bituminous pavement reclamation, minor subgrade <br />corrections, and minor drainage improvements, with grading and culvert replacement only as necessary <br />to address isolated drainage issues. Roadway options were considered during preliminary design. Option <br />1 consists of bituminous reclamation and paving at the existing widths; the second option, is bituminous <br />reclamation and paving with minor shoulder widening. <br />The cost of Option 1 is estimated at $1,320,000. Option 2 is estimated at $1,540,000 These project costs <br />include a 10% contingency and 25% indirect costs. Funding for the project will consist of special <br />assessments, City Street CIP Funds, and State Aid Funds. <br />The project schedule proposed includes construction beginning as early as May 2020, with final <br />completion by the fall of 2020. The duration of the project is approximately two months with flexibility <br />provided to the contractor on the start date to maximize project interest and minimize project costs. <br />This project is feasible, necessary, and cost-effective from an engineering standpoint and should be <br />constructed as proposed herein. <br />Feasibility Report <br />2020 Goodview Avenue Improvement Project <br />City of Hugo, MN <br />WSB Project No. R-014873-000 <br />Page 1 <br />
