The various characteristics
c of the pavement cores were analyzed to assist in determining the appropriate pavement
W maintenance or rehabilitation method for the roadway.
m
A total of 13 pavement cores were obtained along Goodview Avenue North. The locations of the
0
pavement cores are summarized in Figure 1 and Figure 2. A summary of the pavement depths
co and conditions, and recommended maintenance activity for the roadway are shown in Table 1.
Our findings support the City's plan to perform a full depth reclamation (FDR) on Goodview
co Avenue North. A partial depth mill and overlay would not be feasible based on the results of the
coring, which showed that the cores were in poor condition and distresses observed on the
surface of the roadway were severe. A FDR would remove all the existing distresses, and re -
blend the bituminous and a portion of the aggregate as a base to re -pave over, essentially
LO creating a new roadway section.
Z
J
0
a
Q
W
Z
Z
2
0
0
co
W
H
U)
T
W
Z)
Z
W
Q
Q
Z
W
X
0
