CITY OF HUGO <br />CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />TO: Bryan Bear, City Administrator <br />FROM: Mike Loeffler, Public Works Lead Worker <br />SUBJECT: Replacement of Asphalt Pan Tilt Trailer <br />DATE: For the City Council Meeting of February 3, 2020 <br />BACKGROUND <br />In 2006, the City purchased a single axel Felling pan tilt trailer from Lano Equipment <br />Inc. to assist in the filling of potholes and road patching. This trailer is used to haul the <br />asphalt roller and any additional tools to aid in asphalt patching. This trailer has been in <br />service for 14 seasons and is nearing the end of its useful life. Staff is looking to replace <br />the trailer and is recommending a Felling FT121T pan tilt trailer. <br />The trailer listed on the quote from Lano Equipment Inc. has been reviewed with <br />Finance Director, Ron Otkin. Public Works staff has worked with the Finance <br />Department and money is included in the 2020 budget to cover this purchase. <br />Public Works staff is seeking Council authorization for the replacement of the existing <br />2006 pan tilt trailer. If approved by the City Council, this trailer would be purchased <br />using the Mn/DOT Cooperative Purchasing Venture (CPV) State contract #T-603 <br />156368 assuring that the City of Hugo will receive the best price available while <br />providing us with the necessary options to choose from. <br />DESIRED ACTION <br />Staff recommends the City Council authorize the purchase of the pan tilt trailer as <br />outlined in the quote from Lano Equipment Inc. dated January 21, 2020. <br />
