Minutes HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING HUGO CITY HALL 14969 Fitzgerald Avenue North • Hugo. MN SS039 MONDAY. JANUARY 6. 2020 — 7 P.M. Call to Order Mayor Weidt called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. PRESENT: Haas (via Skype), Klein, Miron, Petryk, Weidt ABSENT: None ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Bryan Bear, City Engineer Mark Erichson, City Attorney Dave Snyder, Community Development Director Rachel Juba, City Clerk Michele Lindau Approval of Minutes for the December 12, 2019, Holiday Party Klein made motion, Miron seconded, to approve the minutes for the Holiday Parry held on December 12, 2019, as presented. All Ayes. Motion carried. Approval of Minutes for the December 16, 2019, City Council Meeting Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve minutes for the Council meeting held on December 16, 2019, as presented. All Ayes. Motion carried. Approval of Agenda Weidt made motion, Klein seconded, to approve the agenda as presented. All Ayes. Motion carried. Recognition of Sergeant Joe Stoehr and Introduction of Sergeant Joe Zerwas and Investigator Lee Mars Washington County Sheriff Dan Starry was in attendance and explained the personnel changes within the department. Beginning with the retirement of Commander Cheri Dexter after 30 years with the Sheriff s Office, the promotion of her replacement created other openings in the agency. One of the openings was for a countywide investigative sergeant, and Hugo Sergeant Joe Stoehr was promoted to that position. Taking his place as Hugo's sergeant is former Hugo Investigator Joe Zerwas, and Hugo Deputy Lee Mars was promoted to the investigator position. Mayor Weidt presented Sergeant Stoehr a Certificate of Appreciation for his dedication to Hugo's citizens and said Stoehr has been a great asset to Hugo and will continue to be in his new role. Stoehr, Zerwas, Mars introduced themselves and stated their appreciation to serve the City of Hugo.
