Staff recommends <br />Council approve the Special Event Permit for the Blue Heron Grill Tent Party subject to the <br />conditions in the memo to Council. <br /> <br />G.5 Approve Application for Water Surface Use Permit for David Strub on Sunset Lake <br /> <br />On behalf of residents living on Sunset Lake, resident David Strub has made application to the <br />City of Hugo for a water surface use permit to allow residents to water ski on the slalom course <br />on the lake. Washington County Sheriff’s Department has provided the application form that has <br />been completed by David Strub. City staff recommends Council approve the application for a <br />water surface use permit for a water skiing course on Sunset Lake. <br /> <br />G.6 Approve Application for Water Surface Use Permit for Mike Ball on Round Lake <br /> <br />On behalf of residents living on Round Lake, Resident Mike Ball has made application to the <br />City of Hugo for a water surface use permit to allow residents to water ski on the slalom course <br />on the lake and put a water ski jump on the lake. Washington County Sheriff’s Department has <br />provided the application form that has been completed by Mike Ball. City staff recommends <br />Council approve the application for a water surface use permit for a water skiing course on <br />Round Lake. <br /> <br />G.7 Approve Closing of City Offices on Friday, July 5, 2019 <br /> <br />The City’s Personnel Policy allows for each employee to take one day of their choosing as a <br />personal holiday. Staff is requesting to take their personal holiday on the day following <br />Independence Day. Staff recommends Council close City Offices on Friday, July 5, 2019, to <br />allow all staff to take that day as their personal holiday. <br /> <br />G.8 Approve Resolutions Approving Waters Edge 6th Addition PUD and Preliminary Plat <br /> <br />Hugo Ventures, LLC, is requesting approval of a preliminary plat and PUD amendment to revise <br />the Waters Edge preliminary plat and PUD general plan to create 37 single family villa style <br />(slab on grade patio homes) lots and 1 outlot (common space), where 104 townhome units where <br />previously approved. The development would be known as “Waters Edge 6th Addition”. The <br />overall net density for this phase of the project will be approximately 4 units per acre. At its May <br />9, 2019, meeting, the Planning Commission held a public hearing and considered the request. <br />There was one resident, besides the applicant, that spoke during the hearing. The Planning <br />Commission generally liked the plan and had a few general questions. The Planning Commission <br />unanimously recommended approval of the resolution for preliminary plat and PUD amendment <br />for Waters Edge 6th Addition, subject to the conditions listed in the resolution. <br /> <br />G.9 Approve Resolution Approving a Variance for 7755 125th St. N. -Wlaschin <br /> <br />Matt Wlaschin, 7755 125th Street North requested approval of a variance from the height <br />regulations for a proposed accessory building on his property. The variance request is to allow a <br />maximum of 25 feet in height where 20 feet is allowed by ordinance. At its May 9, 2019 <br />meeting, the Board considered the variance request and held a public hearing. Staff provided <br />background on the request and recommended approval. There was no one that spoke during the <br />public hearing. The Board agreed that the request met the criteria necessary to approve the <br />variance and recommended approval of the resolution for the variance request to the City <br />Council. <br />
