PLANNING COMMISSION UPDATE: <br /> <br />At its June 28, 2020, meeting the Planning Commission considered the request. They had <br />questions on access improvements, access to Irish Avenue Park, and how does this blend in with <br />the existing park. The Planning Commission liked the design of the building and generally <br />agreed the plans were good. There were no residents that attended the Planning Commission <br />meeting. The Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the site plan to the <br />City Council for the Public Works Facility. <br /> <br />2. DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST: <br /> <br />The City of Hugo is proposing to construct an approximately 60,600 square foot Public Works <br />Facility on the south side of Irish Avenue Park located off of 140th Street North (CSAH 8). The <br />Irish Avenue Park property is approximately 125 acres in size, however the site that the Public <br />Works Facility will be on is approximately 40 acres, with the building and site improvements <br />taking up approximately 10 acres. The area includes space for an approximately 45,000 square <br />foot expansion of the building in the future. <br /> <br />The Public Works Facility is considered a public service building and is allowed in the zoning <br />district as a permitted use. The facility will include a salt storage building, material storage <br />building, and outdoor storage of gravel, dirt, and rocks. There will be a fence around the <br />perimeter of the site and landscaping. <br /> <br /> <br />
