Drainage permit application can be found at: http://www,dot.state.nm,us/utility/forms.html-
Application for Drainage Permit
A copy of MnDOT's Drainage Permits Checklist is attached.
For questions on these points or to submit additional information, please call Jason Swenson,
MnDOT Metro District Water Resources Engineering, at (651) 234-7539 or email
Jason. Swenson@state.mn.us
Permits:
As mentioned previously, a Drainage Permit will be required. Also, Access Permits will be
required for the south access to US 61, and a Miscellaneous Work Permit for the water connection
within the right -of --way of US 61.
Any other use of,
or work within or
affecting, MnDOT right of way will
require additional permits.
Permit forms are
available and may
be submitted online at: https:Hdotapp7.dot.state.mn.us/OLPA
.
Please direct questions regarding permit requirements to Buck Craig of MnDOT's Metro Permits
Section at 651-234-7911 or Buck.Craigna.state.mn.us.
Traffic Safety:
In order to maintain safety for southbound motorists turning into the site, the southern access which
uses the existing left turn lane should be used for both the initial and final phases of development.
Since the northern access will require geometric changes to US 61, it will need to be reviewed
through the Level 2 Layout review process. The MnDOT Metro Area Engineer, Ryan Coddington,
will be able to guide you through the layout review process.
The following website provides layout design guidance and identify layout requirements:
http://www.dot. state.mn.us/design/geometric/index.html
The first link under Guidance is helpful, as well as the Design Resources tab.
Please direct questions regarding the Leve12 Layout review process to Ryan Coddington, MnDOT
Area Engineer at 651-234-7714 or Rvan.Coddington(astate.mn.us.
Materials:
In general the plan sheets submitted don't }provide enough detail to review thoroughly. Providing
more detail with respect to existing roadway features (centerline, edge line, etc.) would be helpful.
It may be necessary for roadway Geotech investigations to be performed to determine whether the
in place pavement is capable of handling the shifted traffic.
For more information or for clarification, please contact Dave Van Deusen. Materials and Pavement
at 651-234-7350 or dave.vandeusen(astate.mn.us.
MnDOT Metropolitan District, Waters Edge Building, 1500 County Road B2 West, Roseville, MN 55113
