<br /> <br /> Special Event Permit - Memorandum <br /> <br /> <br />To: City Administrator Bryan Bear <br />From: City Clerk Michele Lindau <br />Date: August 31, 2020, for the September 8, 2020, Council Meeting <br />Re: Hugo Legion Craft Show and Octoberfest Celebration on Saturday, October 3, 2020 <br /> <br /> <br />1. BACKGROUND: <br /> <br />The Hugo American Legion has applied for a Special Event Permit to hold a craft show <br />and Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 3, 2020. A Special Event Permit approved by <br />Council is necessary because alcohol will be sold outdoors, there may be more than 200 <br />people in attendance throughout the day, it will extend after dark, and there will be <br />amplified music. <br /> <br />2. DESCRIPTION OF EVENT: <br /> <br />The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and will consist a craft show with craft <br />vendors inside and outside of the building, food vendors, D.J. music and a bean bag <br />tournament. Details of the event are included with the application <br /> <br />The event is outlined in detail below. <br /> <br /> Parking <br /> <br />The south portion of the Legion parking lot will be used for vendors, D.J. and a bean <br />bag tournament. MGM Liquors, located adjacent to the east, has agreed to allow <br />parking in their lot with the exception of the first two rows. The Daycare has agreed <br />to allow vendors to park on their lot across the street. Parking along the streets will <br />also be available and likely used for this event. <br /> <br /> Activities <br /> <br />Vendors will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The bean bag tournament will be from 4- <br />7 p.m. and music until 9 p.m. The amplified sound will be directed south towards the <br />commercial area. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
