Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for September 21, 2020 <br />Page 5 of 6 <br /> <br />packages were sent to Djibouti, Africa. The YRN assisted in a move from Maplewood to <br />Vadnais Heights with the help from the Hugo Lions Club and St. Johns Men’s Club. The Hugo <br />Lions Club held a golf outing for military folks. Last year, a Forest Lake high school student did <br />a huge care package event, and the student organizing it was nominated for a congressional <br />citizen’s award. <br /> <br />Reschedule Groundbreaking for Public Works Facility to September 24, 2020 <br /> <br />Staff had scheduled the Public Works groundbreaking ceremony to September 17, 2020, but due to <br />scheduling conflicts, City Administrator Bryan Bear recommended Council reschedule the <br />groundbreaking ceremony to Thursday, September 24, 2002 at 3 p.m. <br /> <br />Miron made motion, Klein seconded, to hold the Public Works Groundbreaking Ceremony on <br />Thursday, September 24, 2020, at 3 p.m. <br /> <br />Roll call vote – all ayes. Motion carried <br /> <br />Schedule Downtown Improvement Project Neighborhood Meeting for September 30, 2020 <br /> <br />The project identified in the 5-year Capital Improvement Plan for next year’s improvement <br />project was 2021 Downtown Improvement Project which includes the extension of 147th Street <br />from Finale Avenue to Oneka Boulevard, reconstruction of 147th Street from just west of TH 61 <br />to Finale Avenue, Flay Avenue north of 147th Street, Upper 146th Street, 146th Street, Finley <br />Avenue, and Fitzgerald Avenue. City Administrator Bryan Bear recommended Council schedule <br />a neighborhood meeting for September 30, 2002, at 7 p.m. <br /> <br />Petryk made motion, Klein seconded, to schedule the neighborhood meeting on the Downtown <br />Improvement Project for Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 7 p.m. <br /> <br />Roll call vote – all ayes. Motion carried <br /> <br />Citywide Cleanup Day on Saturday, October 3, 2020 <br /> <br />City Administrator Bryan provided a reminder that the City will hold their annual Fall Citywide <br />Cleanup Day on Saturday, October 3, 2020. From 8 a.m. to noon at the Hugo Public Works Building. <br /> <br />Set Date for Lions Park Community Workshop for October 8, 12, or 13, 2020 <br /> <br />At the meeting of July 20, 2020, the City Council adopted the Master Plan and approved the <br />Feasibility Study for Lions Park. The design of the park, including the playground and pavilion, <br />is planned to be developed this fall. Staff recommended a community workshop be held to kick <br />off the planning and gather input from residents on the design of the park. City Administrator <br />Bryan Bear recommended a workshop be held remotely on October 8, 12, or 13. <br /> <br />Miron made motion, Petryk seconded, to hold the Lions Park Community Workshop on Monday, <br />October 12, 2020, at 7 p.m. <br /> <br />Roll call vote – all ayes. Motion carried <br />
