Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for January 4, 2021 <br />Page 8 of 8 <br /> <br />Update on the Yellow Ribbon Network <br /> <br />Council Member Chuck Haas reported to Council on the Yellow Ribbon Network activities held <br />recently. He had pictures of the Lakeside Dentistry staff and the Change Starts With Me group <br />who were a few of the 30 secret Santa volunteers. There were volunteers that delivered the gifts, <br />including Mayor Weidt who said he appreciated the opportunity to do it. Haas showed a photo of <br />Barb Connolly being presented with the 133rd Airlift Wing Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Supporter <br />of the Year Award. There was a photo of soldiers in Kuwait who received care packages sent by <br />the Forest Lake Rotary High School students with notes of “thanks”. Pictures were taken at the <br />24th Welcome Home Pheasant Hunt. There were and over 30 field sponsors including the Hugo <br />Lions Cub. <br /> <br />Council Meeting Cancelled for Monday, January 18, 2021 <br /> <br />The second Council meeting in the month of January falls on the Martin Luther King Holiday. City <br />Hall will be closed. City Administrator Bryan Bear recommended Council cancel their regular <br />meeting scheduled for that day. <br /> <br />Weidt made motion, Petryk seconded, to cancel the Monday, January 18, 2021, Council meeting. <br /> <br />Roll call vote – all ayes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Council Goal Setting Session on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 <br /> <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear reminded Council they had scheduled their annual goal setting <br />session for Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Schedule Commission Interviews for Week of January 25-29, 2021 <br /> <br />At its December 31, 2020, meeting, the Council discussed holding interviews for vacancies on <br />Hugo’s commissions and directed staff to advertise. Staff has done so and recommended Council <br />schedule interviews for the week of January 25-29, 2021. This would likely be a hybrid meeting. <br /> <br />Miron made motion, Klein to schedule commission interviews for Monday, January 25, 2021 at a <br />time to be determined dependent on how many candidates there were. <br /> <br />Roll call vote – all ayes.
