<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />14669 Fitzgerald Avenue North, Hugo, MN 55038 • (651) 762-6300 • www.ci.hugo.mn.us <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor Tom Weidt and Members of the City Council <br />FROM: Assistant Fire Chief David Jensen <br />SUBJECT: Approve Purchase of New Radios for the Hugo Fire Department <br />DATE: For the City Council Meeting of February 1, 2021 <br /> <br /> <br /> DESIRED COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />Adoption of Consent Agenda Including Authorization for Purchase of New Radios for the Hugo Fire Department <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> <br />Included in the City’s 2021 budget is funding for the purchase of eight new portable radios for the Fire Department. <br />The new radios will replace eight model XTL2600 radios which will become obsolete in 2021. <br /> <br />The new radios being purchased are eight Motorola APX6000 radios for a total cost of $31,246. After this year seven <br />mobile radios will need to be replaced in 2022 and then all of the radios that the department has will be up to date. <br /> <br />The cost of the new radios is as expected and staff has budgeted appropriately for the replacement. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the purchase of eight portable Motorola APX6000 radios through the <br />State of Minnesota contract, from ANCOM. <br /> ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />Price quote from ANCOM <br />
