The overall project area is represented in the attached <br />figure labeled County Road 8 Reuse Project Irrigation Area. <br /> <br />The City has received the following grants for the project: <br /> <br /> Rice Creek Watershed District Urban Stormwater Remediation Cost-Share Program in <br />the amount of $176,000 <br /> Metropolitan Council Stormwater Grant program in the amount of $50,000 <br /> <br />The City was notified in December 2020 that they have been awarded funding from the Board of <br />Soil and Water Resources (BWSR) in the amount of $392,400 for the project. The City and WSB <br />staff have continued working on administrative procedures for the grant in 2021, and the workplan <br />for the grant was approved by BWSR in March 2021. See attached workplan for the project’s <br />estimated costs and activity details. The BWSR Clean Water Fund Grant will be used primarily for <br />Construction activities. <br /> <br />The total project cost is estimated to be $729,000, with approximately 85% of the cost coming <br />from Grant funds. The City share of the project cost is $110,600. <br /> <br />As part of the Clean Water Fund grant agreement, the City must not begin work under this grant <br />until it the agreement is executed. The funds for this grant expire on December 31, 2023. The <br />agreement requires the installation of signage as provided in Minnesota Laws 2010, Chapter 361, <br />Article 3, Section 5(b) for Clean Water Projects, and all signage must represent BWSR and the <br />Clean Water Fund program as a funding partner. The Grant Agreement is enclosed for Council <br />review and consideration of approval. <br /> <br />Staff has prepared the enclosed Resolution Authorizing The Board of Soil and Water Resources <br />2021 Clean Water Fund Grant Agreement for the County Road 8 Stormwater Reuse Project, and <br />recommends approval of the grant agreement in the amount of $392,400 2021. <br />
