<br /> <br />April 29, 2021 <br /> <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />City of Hugo <br />14669 Fitzgerald Avenue North <br />Hugo, MN 55038 <br /> <br />Re: CSAH 8 Stormwater Reuse Project <br /> Approve Plans and Specifications and Authorize the Advertisement for Bids <br /> WSB Project No. 012692-000 <br /> <br /> <br />Dear Mayor and Council, <br /> <br />Previously the Hugo City Council authorized WSB to prepare plans and specifications for the CSAH <br />8 Stormwater Reuse Project. The CSAH 8 reuse system will pump water from the stormwater pond <br />located in the NW quadrant of CSAH 8 and Oneka Parkway to the existing irrigation system along <br />CSAH 8 and future irrigation system to be constructed as part of the Lions Park Redevelopment <br />Project and the 2021 Downtown Improvement Project , conserving an estimated 14 million gallons <br />of water annually. The attached figure depicts the project area. <br /> <br />The total project costs are currently estimated to be approximately $729,000. <br /> <br />Funding Source Amount <br />MCES Grant Funds $50,000 <br />BWSR CWF Project and Practices Grant $392,400 <br />Rice Creek Watershed District* $176,000 <br />Cost Share Required by City $110,600 <br />Total $729,000 <br />*$76k in grant funds still pending <br /> <br /> <br />Plans and Specifications have been prepared and are ready to be advertised for bidding. Staff is <br />requesting approval of the plans and specifications and authorization to advertise for bids. Staff will place <br />the advertisement for bids which is required to run for a minimum of 21 days.
