From:Tom Sorensen
To:Rachel Juba
Cc:Emily Weber; "Trese"
Subject:RE: Drengson Development
Date:Wednesday, June 30, 2021 11:28:14 AM
Caution: This email originated outside our organization; please use caution.
Hello Emily

Can you print us the recent packet concerning the latest Drengson Development plan? I can come
and pick it up at city hall.
Is there a link to it on the city website? I could not find it.

Hello Rachel and Emily

After reviewing the grading plan, it would appear that the company that developed this had no
consideration for leaving any trees on the property. This is quite disturbing, as well as showing walk-
out homes on land that already has a high water table and drainage issues, thereby creating the
need to make grading elevations that much more extreme.

One of our personal big concerns is the grading they plan to do close to/on the property line. We
have several trees we have planted over the years and nurtured in the goal of maintaining privacy
and a buffer zone. If those tree roots become damaged it will compromise the trees or kill them. My
understanding is that if a neighbor’s excavation practices kill your trees, they are responsible for
compensating you for the damage/loss. I don’t really want this to go there.

There was an extensive tree survey done. Can you tell me what the purpose of this is if the trees will
likely be all removed? Is there a formula that the developer has to follow to put in new trees for the
amount that was removed?

Are there limitations on the dwellings that can be built? Limitations on height? We are concerned
about three story homes essentially built on grade towering over the landscape, spoiling the rural
feel of the neighborhood.

There are a number of us neighbors who have been communicating and meeting and we have many
different concerns with the grading plan. We will all be at the planning meeting next week, so please
make allowance for us to speak.

Please tell me what form of media we can bring to share. I assume we can bring handouts. Is there
also a possibility for us to bring media (power point or whatever) on a flash drive to share? Please let
me know so we can prepare.

Looking forward to your response. Thank you
