our home. This shallow pond will only become a sludge pit over time; an eyesore and mosquito breeding
ground.
As our city council representative, we ask that you please share this letter with the full council, the
mayor and planning commission members.
In conclusion, we respectfully request that the members of the Planning Commission let the neighboring
property owner’s voices be heard at the upcoming hearing on Thursday. Please table approval of the
Acres of Bald Eagle development to give the developer an opportunity to consider a less disruptive
development plan, including wider buffers along the adjoining property borders, a less intense grading
plan allowing for single story or story and a half homes rather than thirty-five foot tall two plus story
homes, and a better solution for the drainage pond.
See comments below regarding the grading plan and tree removal.
Thank you,
Trese and Tom Sorensen

This intense grading and dramatic elevation change will
compromise the existing trees on the neighboring properties to
the north. There needs to be a wide buffer zone along the
development’s north border, with no disturbance of the existing
grade staying well away from the existing tree driplines.
