<br /> <br /> <br />June 25, 2021 <br /> <br />Office of Administration <br /> <br /> <br />Kevin Corbid, County Administrator <br />Jan Lucke, Deputy Administrator <br />Jennifer Wagenius, Deputy Administrator <br /> <br />TO: Grant Oak Park Heights May Township <br />Hugo Stillwater Stillwater Township <br />Lake Elmo Baytown Township <br /> <br />The term of office for Craig Lesier, with the Brown's Creek Watershed District, <br />expired on June 6, 2021. <br /> <br />Minnesota Statute 103D.311 provides that the County Board will select watershed district managers <br />from a list of nominees submitted by the municipalities that are wholly or partially within the <br />watershed district. The lists submitted, either together or separately, by the municipalities will be <br />provided to the county board. If the list submitted to the county board contains at least 3 names, the <br />county board must either choose a nominee on the list, if it chooses a person who resides in any of <br />the municipalities that provided a list, or choose a person that resides from a municipality that did <br />not provide a list. The statute asks that lists be submitted to the county at least 60 days prior to the <br />expiration of the term of office of a manager. The county board shall make its appointment 30 days <br />prior to the term expiration. The statute directs the county board to appoint managers to fairly <br />represent the various hydrologic areas within the watershed district by residence of the manager <br />appointed. <br /> <br />If you wish to submit a list of nominees for consideration or wish the incumbent to be considered <br />for reappointment, your joint or separate list should be sent to me prior to September 23, 2021. <br /> <br />The county's advisory board application form is attached.
