BACKGROUND MEMO FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON JUNE 21, 2021 <br /> <br />D.1 Approve Minutes for the June 21, 2021, City Council Meeting <br />D.2 Approve Minutes for the July 6, 2021, Lions Park Ground Breaking <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the minutes as presented. <br /> <br />F.1 Metropolitan Council Representative Susan Vento <br /> <br />Met Council Representative Susan Vento will be in attendance to provide an update on <br />Metropolitan Council activities. <br /> <br />F.2 Presentation of 2020 Audit Report – Jason Miller, Smith Schafer & Associates <br /> <br />Jason Miller from the independent accounting firm of Smith Schafer & Associates will present a <br />recap of the audit of City finances for the 2020 fiscal year. The Council will listen to the <br />presentation from Jason Miller after which questions will be taken. The audit report can be found <br />on the City’s website. City staff recommends Council formally accept the 2020 City Audit as <br />recommended by Interim Finance Director Anna Wobse. <br /> <br />G.1 Approve Claims Roster <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the Claims Roster as presented. <br /> <br />G.2 Approve Special Event Permit for Wilson Tool Company Picnic <br /> <br />Wilson Tool has applied for a Special Event Permit to hold their annual company picnic on <br />Saturday, August 14, 2021, at the Hanifl Shelter and Fields. This event requires a Special Event <br />Permit approved by Council because there will be amplified sound, alcohol served, temporary <br />structures (tents), and approximately 800 people are expected to attend. This is a private event and <br />free of charge to Wilson Tool employees and their families. There will be food, beer garden, <br />petting zoo, yard games, and bingo. Staff recommends Council approve the Special Event Permit <br />for Wilson Tool subject to the conditions attached to the permit. <br /> <br />G.3 Approve Temporary Liquor License for the Lions for Wilson Tool Company Picnic <br /> <br />The Hugo Lions Club has applied for a temporary on-sale liquor license to serve beer at the Wilson <br />Tool company picnic on Saturday, August 14, 2021. Staff recommends Council approve the <br />temporary permit for the Hugo Lions Club. <br /> <br />G.4 Approve Special Event Permit for Blue Heron Tent Party <br /> <br />The Blue Heron Bar and Grill, 14725 Victor Hugo Boulevard, has applied for a Special Event <br />Permit for their annual outdoor tent party to be held on Friday, August 27 and Saturday, August 28, <br />2021. A Special Event Permit approved by Council is necessary because alcohol will be sold <br />outdoors, approximately 500 people are expected to attend, it will extend after dark, and there will <br />be amplified music. Staff recommends Council approve the Special Event Permit for the Blue <br />Heron Tent Party on August 27 and 28, 2021, subject to the conditions attached to the permit. <br />
