ORDINANCE OVERVIEW: <br />Staff has drafted two definitions that will be added to the City Code with the ordinance. A <br />Short Term Rental is generally defined as a temporary occupancy of a dwelling unit which is <br />offered to a transient as a dwelling unit for fewer than 30 consecutive days. A Transient is <br />generally defined as a person who exercises occupancy or is entitled to occupancy by any type <br />of agreement (permit, license, arrangement, etc). <br />The ordinance simply states that it is unlawful to offer for rent or enter into a rental <br />agreement, a dwelling unit, or any other portion of their property, as a Short-Term Rental in <br />any zoning district within the City. <br />4. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommended approval of the ordinance prohibiting short term rentals in the City. <br />5. PLANNING COMMISSON RECOMMENDATION: <br />The Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the ordinance prohibiting <br />short term rentals to the City Council. <br />Attachments: <br />1.Short Term Rentals – Prohibited Ordinance
