RESOLUTION NO. 2021— 58 <br />A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE COST TO BE ASSESSED AND ORDERING <br />PREPARATION OF PROPOSED ASSESSMENT ROLL <br />FOR THE 2021 DOWNTOWN IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br />WHEREAS estimated costs have been calculated for the Goodview Avenue Improvement <br />consisting of roadway improvements on 147t' Street from just west of TH 61 to Finale Avenue, <br />147'h Street from Finale Avenue to Oneka Parkway (new construction), Flay Avenue north of <br />147a' Street to its existing termination point, Upper 146t' Street from Finale Avenue to Fitzgerald <br />Avenue, 146 h Street from Finale Avenue to Fitzgerald Avenue, Finley Avenue from Upper 146t' <br />Street to 145 h Street, and Fitzgerald Avenue from 147t' Street to 146t' Street. The estimated cost <br />for such improvements is $3,240,800. That portion of the project that is assessable is the roadway <br />improvements with estimated costs is $259,639.75; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT BE RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Hugo, <br />Minnesota, as follows: <br />1. The portion of the cost of the roadway improvement is hereby declared to be $3,240,800; <br />and the portion of the cost to be assessed against benefited property owners is declared to <br />be $259,639.75. <br />2. Assessments shall be payable in equal annual installments extending over a period of 15 <br />years, the first of the installments to be payable on or before the first Monday in January, <br />2021 and shall bear interest at the rate of 4.00 percent per annum from the date of the <br />adoption of the assessment resolution. <br />3. The city clerk, with the assistance of the city engineer, shall forthwith calculate the proper <br />amount to be specially assessed for such improvement against every assessable lot, piece or <br />parcel of land within the district affected, without regard to cash valuation, as provided by <br />law, and he shall file a copy of such proposed assessment in his office for public inspection. <br />4. The clerk shall upon the completion of such proposed assessment, notify the council <br />thereof. <br />Council members voting AYE: Klein, Miron, Petryk, Strub, Weidt <br />Council members voting NAY: None <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared passed and adopted this 7th day 021. <br />Tom Weidt, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Michele Lindau, City Clerk <br />
