PLANNING COMMISSION UPDATE: <br /> <br />At its September 23, 2021 meeting, the Hugo Planning Commission held a public hearing and <br />considered the request for Lakeview Family Dentistry located at 14475 Forest Boulevard North. <br />Staff recommended approval of the site plan and variance requests. The two variance requests <br />are for a variance from the maximum impervious surface coverage requirement and from the <br />building setback from the ordinary high water level of Egg Lake. There was no one who spoke at <br />the public hearing. The Planning Commission agreed that the applications meet the requirements <br />necessary for approval and unanimously recommended approval of the site plan and variance <br />requests to the City Council. <br /> <br />2. DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST AND BACKGROUND: <br /> <br />Lakeview Family Dentistry is requesting site plan approval for an approximately 4,400 square <br />foot addition to be constructed on to the existing building on site. The existing building is 1,957 <br />square feet and operates as a dental clinic. The site is adjacent to Egg Lake and falls within the <br />Shoreland Overlay District. The applicant is also requesting two variances from the Shoreland <br />Overlay District requirements. A variance is requested from the maximum imperious surface <br />coverage to allow an impervious surface coverage of 50.6%, where a maximum of 25% is
