LOCATIONS SHOULD REMAIN OUT OF THE CENTER LAWN <br />BUT CORRESPOND TO PHASING OF STREET, PARK AND BUILDING CONSTRUCTION. ACCESS TO CITY <br />HALL AND THE BUILDING CONSTRUCTION AREA SHALL REMAIN OPEN DURING THE DURATION OF THE <br />ENTIRE PROJECT. <br />THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN A ROCK ACCESS DRIVE FOR THE DURATION OF <br />CONSTRUCTION. <br />REFER TO PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. <br />GENERAL SITE & VEGETATION REMOVALS: <br />ALL REMOVALS WILL BE COMPLETED BY THE CONTRACTOR, UNLESS SPECIFIED OTHERWISE. ANY DAMAGE TO TREES AND ITEMS THAT <br />ARE TO REMAIN SHALL BE REPLACED AT CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE. <br />THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEARING AND REMOVALS OF ALL PLANT MATERIALS, WHICH <br />INCLUDES TREES, SHRUBS, GROUND COVERS, ETC. AND SHALL INCLUDE GRUBBING AND REMOVAL OF <br />ALL STUMPS (TYP) AS DIRECTED BY THE LA-E/OWNER. <br />UTILITY LOCATIONS NOTE: <br />PRIOR TO BEGINNING WORK ON THIS PROJECT, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL HAVE ALL UTILITY <br />LOCATIONS MARKED ON THE PROJECT SITE. ALL LOCATES SHALL BE INCIDENTAL TO THE PROJECT. <br />STATE LAW: 48 HOURS BEFORE EXCAVATING, CALL GOPHER STATE ONE -CALL AT 651-454-0002 FOR <br />FIELD LOCATION OF UNDERGROUND UTILITY LINES. THIS IS A FREE SERVICE WHICH WILL LOCATE <br />UTILITY -COMPANY LINES, BUT WILL NOT LOCATE CITY OR PRIVATELY OWNED LINES. <br />PROJECT LAYOUT NOTES: <br />THE LAYOUT INFORMATION PROVIDED ON PLAN SHEETS ARE FOR BIDDING PURPOSES AND <br />VERIFICATION OF CRITICAL LAYOUT DIMENSIONS. THE OWNER/L.A.-E. RESERVES THE RIGHT TO <br />REVISE THE PROJECT LAYOUT TO AVOID UNFORESEEN CONSTRAINTS, SUCH AS MATURE TREES. <br />UNFORESEEN SOIL CONSTRAINTS, ETC. THESE ADJUSTMENTS SHALL BE CONSIDERED <br />INCIDENTAL TO THE CONTRACT. CHANGES IN BID QUANTITIES WILL BE BASED ON A PER UNIT <br />BASIS FOR UNIT BID ITEMS AS INDICATED ON THE BID FORM. <br />THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE PROVIDED A LIMITED AMOUNT OF CONSTRUCTION LAYOUT POINTS <br />(REFER TO SPECIFICATIONS). ADDITIONAL STAKING OR RE -STAKING SHALL BE AT CONTRACTORS <br />EXPENSE. CAD DATA WILL BE PROVIDED TO THE CONTRACTOR. SURVEYING MUST BE COMPLETED <br />BY A REGISTERED LAND SURVEYOR IN THE STATE OF MINNESOTA. <br />TO AVOID LAYOUT CONFLICTS OR UNCERTAINTIES, THE CONTRACTOR AND SURVEYOR SHALL <br />MEET WITH THE LA-E/OWNER AT THE START OF THE PROJECT TO REVIEW SITE LAYOUT AND <br />GRADING REQUIREMENTS. THE CONTRACTOR AND/OR SURVEYOR SHALL ALSO INITIATE A <br />MEETING WITH THE LA-E/OWNER AT ANY POINT WHEN QUESTIONS ARISE. <br />FIELD STAKING AND GRADE STAKES SHALL BE REVIEWED AS NECESSARY WITH THE LA-E TO <br />ENSURE THAT THE LAYOUT AND GRADING ARE PROPERLY INTERPRETED. <br />FIELD LOCATION NOTE: <br />ALL SITE IMPROVEMENTS SHALL BE FIELD STAKED ACCORDING TO PLAN AND THE CONTRACTOR <br />SHALL MEET WITH THE OWNER / LA-E TO REVIEW STAKES AND MAKE ADJUSTMENTS AS NECESSARY <br />PRIOR TO ANY WORK BEING DONE. <br />SEE ALSO PROJECT LAYOUT NOTES <br />EROSION CONTROL SILT FENCING SHALL BE ERECTED ALONG THE INSIDE OF THE CONSTRUCTION <br />LIMITS IN ALL AREAS OF THE SITE WHERE DRAINAGE FLOWS MAY CAUSE SEDIMENT TO BE DEPOSITED <br />ON ADJACENT OFF -SITE PROPERTIES OR IN AREAS BEYOND THE CONSTRUCTION LIMITS - REFER TO <br />PLAN. <br />THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT ALL EXISTING AND PROPOSED CATCHBASINS AND STORM <br />SEWERS FROM SILTATION BY INSTALLING AND MAINTAINING EROSION CONTROL FENCING AROUND <br />ALL STRUCTURES FOR THE DURATION OF THE CONSTRUCTION PERIOD. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL <br />CLEAN SILT BUILD-UP FROM ALL STORM SEWERS AFFECTED BY CONSTRUCTION, AS REQUIRED, <br />DURING CONSTRUCTION AND PRIOR TO FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF THE PROJECT. THE CONTRACTOR <br />SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IMMEDIATE CLEANING OF ALL MUD, DIRT AND DEBRIS IN PUBLIC <br />STREETS. <br />REFER TO SPECIFICATIONS FOR ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS. <br />SPOT GRADES AND DRAINAGE REQUIREMENTS: <br />THE CONTRACTOR AND SURVEYOR SHALL REVIEW ALL GRADING WITH THE LA-E PRIOR TO <br />CONSTRUCTION TO ENSURE PROPER DRAINAGE AND GRADING. <br />THE INTENT OF ALL PROPOSED SPOT GRADES AND GRADING IN GENERAL IS TO MATCH EXISTING <br />GRADES ADJACENT TO NEW CONSTRUCTION AND TO ENSURE PROPER DRAINAGE AND BLENDING OF <br />NEW GRADES WITH EXISTING ONES. SPOT GRADES SHOWN ARE TO FINISHED GRADE. CONTRACTOR <br />SHALL SUBCUT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PLANS, DETAILS AND SPECIFICATIONS. ALL TOPSOIL SHALL BE FULLY REMOVED FROM AREAS <br />TO BE PAVED AND REPLACED WITH COMPACTIBLE SOILS - REFER TO GEOTECHNICAL REPORT FOR <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. NOTE: LOCATION OF STOCKPILE SHALL BE DETERMINED BY THE <br />OWNER/LA-E IN THE FIELD. STOCKPILE AREA WILL REQUIRE SILT FENCE AROUND IT. REFER TO <br />SPECIFICATIONS FOR ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS. <br />EARTHWORK SHOWS AN IMPORT FOR THE PARK PROJECT. CONTRACTOR TO USE SUITABLE SOILS <br />BENEATH ALL PAVED AREAS AND MAY MINE GOOD MATERIAL ON SITE FOR USE BENEATH PAVED <br />AREAS AND UTILIZE MORE ORGANIC SOILS IN THE MAIN LAWN SPACE WITH REVIEW AND APPROVAL <br />BY THE ENGINEER PRIOR TO IMPORT. <br />EXCAVATION FOR THE BUILDING IS TO BE COMPLETED BY THE BUILDING CONTRACTOR. ALL <br />REMAINING EARTHWORK IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SITE CONTRACTOR INCLUDING FINISHED <br />GRADING AROUND THE BUILDING AND WILL NEED TO FOLLOW THE CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE OF THE <br />BUILDING CONTRACTOR, ANTICIPATED TO BE COMPLETED APPROXIMATELY FEBRUARY OF 2022. <br />PRIOR TO PLACEMENT OF TOPSOIL, ALL SUBGRADE AREAS BENEATH AREAS THAT ARE NOT PAVED <br />OR STATED OTHERWISE SHALL BE DECOMPACTED TO INCLUDE RIPPING OR TILLING THE SUBGRADE A <br />MINIMUM DEPTH OF 12 INCHES. <br />A MINIMUM 6 INCH MINIMUM DEPTH OF SALVAGED TOPSOIL SHALL BE PLACED ON ALL AREAS THAT <br />ARE NOT PAVED, HARD SURFACED, OR STATED OTHERWISE. THE TOPSOIL SHALL BE FINE GRADED, <br />RAKED AND DRAGGED TO PROVIDE A SMOOTH, UNIFORM SURFACE FREE OF ANY ROCKS OR DEBRIS <br />EXCEEDING ONE INCH IN ANY MEASUREMENT. TOPSOIL GRADES SHALL BE WITHIN .05 FEET OF <br />INDICATED FINISHED GRADE AND SHALL BE TRUE TO GRADIENTS SHOWN ON PLANS. <br />PRIOR TO RESTORATION AND PLANTING, APPLY SOIL AMENDMENTS ACCORDING TO THE FOLLOWING: <br />TYPE I AND TYPE II TURF SEED: <br />MnDOT TYPE 1 FERTILIZER WITH 10-10-10 OR 20-10-20 NUTRIENT ANALYSIS. AMMONIUM SULFATE OR <br />SULFUR COATED UREA SHALL BE USED TO SUPPLY THE NITROGEN FERTILIZER AND SHALL BE <br />MINIMUM 40 LBS AND MAXIMUM 45 LBS. NITROGEN/ACRE <br />TYPE III NATIVE SEED: MnDOT TYPE 3 FERTILIZER WITH SLOW RELEASE NITROGEN <br />APPLY FERTILIZERS UNIFORMLY IN TWO DIRECTIONS WITH A MECHANICAL SPREADER. SWEEP UP <br />ANY FERTILIZER ACCIDENTALLY APPLIED ON WALKS/PAVEMENTS/ETC. TO PREVENT MOVEMENT TO <br />STORM SEWERS, LAKES & STREAMS. WATER THE SITE THOROUGHLY AFTER FERTILIZING TO <br />DISSOLVE THE NUTRIENTS. <br />ALL FERTILIZATION SHALL BE CONSIDERED INCIDENTAL TO THE RESTORATION OPERATIONS. REFER <br />TO SPECIFICATIONS FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. <br />PLANTING NOTES: <br />PLANTING BEDS SHALL BE PREPARED IN THE FOLLOWING MANNER: <br />• REMOVE ALL EXISTING VEGETATION AND GROUNDCOVER. TREES SHALL HAVE THE STUMPS <br />REMOVED OR GROUND DOWN. <br />• SPRAY THE PLANTING BED AREA WITH ROUND -UP DURING WARM, DRY WEATHER. LET IT SIT FOR <br />A MINIMUM OF TWO WEEKS AND THEN THOROUGHLY REMOVE ALL REMAINING GROUNDCOVER <br />VEGETATION AND ROOT SYSTEMS. <br />• ROTOTILL THE PLANTING BED TO LOOSEN UP THE SOIL. RAKE SMOOTH WHEN DONE AND <br />REMOVE ALL ROCKS AND DEBRIS ENCOUNTERED. <br />• TRENCH THE EDGE OF THE PLANTING BEDS OR INSTALL LANDSCAPE EDGING TO DELINEATE <br />PLANTING BED FROM TURF AREAS AS INDICATED ON PLANS. <br />• SET PLANTS OUT ACCORDING TO PLAN AND ADJUST SPACING AS NEEDED FOR BEST FIT TO BE <br />REVIEWED AND APPROVED BY THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT PRIOR TO PLANTING. <br />• INSTALL ALL PLANTS AS PER PLANTING PLANS AND DETAILS. <br />• DO NOT ALLOW PLANTS TO DRY OUT DURING INSTALLATION. <br />• LIGHTLY TAMP SOILS AROUND THE PLANTS AFTER PLANTING. <br />• WATER PLANTING BED THOROUGHLY. STICK A HOSE IN THE SOIL AROUND THE BASE OF THE <br />PLANTED VEGETATION TO IDENTIFY AIR/SINK HOLES. FILL IN WITH SOIL AS NECESSARY. <br />• INSTALL WOOD MULCH TO 4" DEPTH.
