3 <br /> <br />be collected, finder information and the animal will be posted in accordance <br />with Section 3. <br />c. The Humane Officer will be required to collect and transport contained dogs <br />only. The Humane Officer will not carry or utilize a firearm in the course of <br />her work unless approved in writing by the City. Humane Officer will however <br />be allowed to carry and utilize mace on a dangerous dog if the situation arises <br />where safety is in serious question as determined by the Humane Officer. <br />d. Invoices and requests for payment shall be in a form approved by the City and <br />shall be processed in accordance with the City’s routine monthly payment <br />schedules. <br />e. Mileage will be billed at current IRS Mileage Rates from starting point when <br />call is received, during call and then return back to starting point. <br />f. Humane Officer shall, upon request of the members of the Washington County <br />Sheriff’s Department Office, City Council, City Clerk, or the City <br />Administrator, take all reasonable steps to take into custody and dog deemed to <br />be at large or in violation of any City Ordinance or Minnesota State Statute. All <br />apprehension of dogs directed by the aforementioned shall be treated humanely. <br /> g. Every reasonable effort shall be made to return the animal to its rightful owner, <br />at which time owner information will be collected to facilitate the City to issue <br />a citation for violation of the City’s leash law as it deems necessary. In the <br />event that the animal cannot be returned to its owner, the animal shall be <br />delivered into the custody of impound facility as designated by the City. The <br />Humane Officer agrees to comply with all state laws regarding waiting periods.
