Background <br />Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Commission <br />Meeting of February 17, 2021 <br />Hugo City Hall, 7:00 pm <br />Approve Minutes from January 20, 2021 Meeting <br />Staff recommends approval of the minutes of the Parks Commission meeting of January 20, 2021. <br />PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED MINUTES. <br />Oath of Office <br />The Parks Commission has had an opening for an Alternate Commissioner. Former Commissioner Shawn <br />Haag did not wish to be re -appointed in 2021. The Council received applications, held interviews, and made <br />appointments at their February 1, 2021 meeting. Emily McGinnity has been appointed as a Commissioner <br />and Meredith St. Pierre as an Alternate Commissioner. They will be asked to read the Oath of Office. <br />MCGINNITY AND ST. PIERRE OATHS ARE ATTACHED. <br />Hugo Meadows Park Dedication <br />The Parks Commission reviewed a sketch plan called "the Meadows at Hugo" on March 20, 2019. The <br />Planned Unit Development (PUD) application is for 87 residential lots on 27 acres located north of 159tn <br />Street. The development includes paved trails and passive trails. The applicant is proposing to pay park <br />dedication fees, which would total $208,800. Staff recommends discussion on the development and <br />approval of the park dedication proposal. <br />A MEMO ON HUGO MEADOWS IS ATTACHED. <br />Drengson Sketch Plan <br />A sketch plan application was received for 10 units on 3 properties totaling 15 acres from Drengson May <br />Enterprises. The properties are in the Large Lot Single -Family Residential (R-1) zoning district and the <br />applicant is proposing to comply with regulations for the zoning district. The applicant is proposing to pay <br />park dedication fees for the 7 units created totaling $16,800. Staff recommends input be provided on the <br />Drengson Sketch Plan. <br />A MEMO ON THE DRENGSON SKETCH PLAN IS ATTACHED. <br />Lions Park Update <br />The Parks Commission reviewed a developed design for Lions Park at their January 20, 2021 meeting. The <br />plans were recommended for approval and next steps were authorized. The City Council approved the plans <br />and authorized construction documents at their February 1, 2021 meeting. Staff will provide updates on the <br />next steps for Lions Park. <br />THE COST ESTIMATES AS PRESENTED TO THE COUNCIL ARE ATTACHED AS WELL AS THE CONSULTANT PROPOSALS FOR <br />CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS. <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />Parks Commission Agenda <br />February 17, 2021 <br />
