BACKGROUND MEMO FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON FEBRUARY 22, 2022 <br /> <br />D.1 Approve Minutes for the February 7, 2022 City Council Meeting <br />D.2 Approve Minutes for the February 8, 2022 HBA Breakfast <br />D.3 Approve Minutes for the February 16, 2022 Oneka Parkway Neighborhood Meeting <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the above minutes as presented. <br /> <br />F.1 EDA and Building Department Annual Report – Community Development Assistant <br />Emily Weber <br /> <br />Community Development Assistant Emily Weber will present to Council the EDA and Building <br />Department Annual Report for 2021. <br /> <br />G. 1 Approve Claims Roster <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the Claims Roster as presented. <br /> <br />G.2 Approve Donation from the American Legion to the Hugo Fire Department <br /> <br />The Hugo American Legion would like to donate $1,000 to the Hugo Fire Department for <br />training and equipment. Donations to the Fire Department need to be approved by Council. <br />Staff recommends Council approve the donation of $1,000 to the Hugo Fire Department from the <br />Hugo American Legion. <br /> <br />G.3 Approve Lawful Gambling Exempt Permit for Pheasants Forever <br /> <br />Washington County Pheasants Forever Chapter 671 is applying for Lawful Gambling Exempt <br />Permit to hold Raffles at their banquet at Sal’s Angus Grill on March 13, 2022. The application <br />needs to be approved by the Hugo City Council before being forwarded to the MN Gambling <br />Control Board. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the Lawful Gambling Exempt Permit <br />for Pheasants Forever. <br /> <br />G.4 Approve Lawful Gambling Exempt Permit for White Bear Lake Lacrosse Club <br /> <br />White Bear Lake Lacrosse Club is applying for a Lawful Gambling Exempt Permit to hold a <br />Bingo at their event to be held on March 27, 2022 at the Hugo American Legion. The <br />application needs to be approved by the Hugo City Council before being forwarded to the MN <br />Gambling Control Board. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the Lawful Gambling <br />Exempt Permit for the White Bear Lake Lacrosse Club. <br /> <br />G.5 Approve Purchase of New Radios for the Hugo Fire Department <br /> <br />Included in the City’s 2022 budget is funding for the purchase of six new mobile radios for the <br />Fire Department. The new radios will replace six model XTL2500 radios which became <br />obsolete in 2021. The radios being purchased are six Motorola APX6500 radios for a total cost <br />of $25,195.50. The cost of the new radios is as expected and staff has budgeted appropriately for <br />the replacement. Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the purchase of six mobile <br />Motorola APX6500 radios through the State of Minnesota contract, from ANCOM.
