CITY OF HUGO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2022- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING REDISTRICTING PLAN <br />CONFIRMING EXISTING MUNICIPAL WARD BOUNDARIES AND <br />CREATING NEW PRECINCT BOUNDARIES AND POLLING LOCATIONS <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, following the national census conducted every 10 years, state and local <br />governments must redraw their elective districts (redistrict), a necessary process to insure equal <br />representation among the wards, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the legislature of the State of Minnesota has been redistricted; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 204B.14, subd. 3 (d) requires a municipality to <br />reestablish precinct boundaries of voting precincts and polling places within a municipality; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City used the 2020 Census data to establish equal populations among its <br />three wards, and; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council considered the restricting plan at a duly called public <br />meeting; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />HUGO, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the redistricting plan as described <br />herein: <br /> <br />Ward 1, Precinct 1 <br />Beginning at the southwest corner of the City, northerly along the west border of the City to <br />CSAH 8 (Frenchman Road), thence easterly along the centerline of CSAH8 to its intersection <br />with T.H. 61 (Forest Blvd.), thence southerly along T.H. 61 to the southern border of the City, <br />thence westerly along said southern border of the City to the point of beginning. <br /> <br />Ward 1, Precinct 2 <br />Beginning at the intersection of T.H. 61 and 120th Street, northerly along the centerline of T.H. <br />61 to its intersection with 140th Street then easterly along 140th Street to Egg Lake Road, thence <br />southeasterly along Egg Lake Road to its intersection with Goodview Avenue, thence southerly <br />along the centerline of Goodview Avenue to the north boundary of ISD 832 (Mahtomedi), thence <br />westerly along said boundary to the westerly boundary of ISD 832 as extended, thence southerly <br />along said boundary to the southern border of the City, thence westerly along said southern <br />border of the city to the point of beginning. <br /> <br />Ward 2, Precinct 3 <br />Beginning at intersection of Elmcrest Avenue (west border of the City) and Frenchman Road, <br />northerly along Elmcrest Avenue to the north border of ISD 624 (White Bear), thence easterly
