<br /> <br /> <br />1 <br />RECIPROCAL EMERGENCY SERVICES AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF HUGO <br />AND THE CENTENNIAL FIRE DISTRICT <br /> <br /> <br />In an effort to provide the best possible emergency services and automatic response to reported structure <br />and building fires for residents, the Centennial Fire District and the City of Hugo have entered into this <br />Reciprocal Emergency Services Agreement (the “Agreement”) to make equipment, personnel and other <br />resources available to their respective fire departments. <br /> <br />In this Agreement, the following terms shall have meanings given below: <br /> <br />1. “Party” means the City of Hugo through its Fire Department or the Centennial Fire District through <br />its Fire Department. <br />2. “Requesting Official” means the person designated by a Party who is responsible for requesting <br />Assistance from the other Party. <br />3. “Requesting Party,” means a Party that requests assistance from the other Party. <br />4. “Responding Official” means a Party that provides assistance to a Requesting Party. <br />5. “Assistance” means fire/rescue and/or emergency medical services personnel and equipment. <br /> <br />____________________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />1. Request for Assistance. <br /> <br />Whenever, in the opinion of a Requesting Official, there is a need for assistance from the other Party, the <br />Requesting Official may call upon the Responding Official of the other Party to furnish assistance. <br /> <br />2. Response to Request. <br /> <br />Upon the request of assistance from a Requesting Party, the Responding Official may authorize and direct <br />his or her Party’s personnel to provide assistance to the Requesting Party. This decision will be made <br />after considering the needs of the Responding Party and the availability of resources. <br /> <br />3. Automatic Assistance. <br /> <br />If either Party receives notice of a reported structure or building fire within the coverage areas of the other <br />Party, that Party will automatically dispatch assistance to the scene without waiting for a request for <br />assistance from the other Party. The automatic dispatch may include an engine, crew, and a chief officer, <br />if he or she is available. <br /> <br />4. Recall of Assistance. <br /> <br />The Responding Official may at any time recall such assistance if, based on his or her best judgment or <br />on order from the governing body of the Responding Party, it is considered to be in the best interests of <br />the Responding Party to do so. <br />
