Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved <br />Pay Request No.19 in the amount of $6,314.89 to Ebert Construction for the construction of the <br />City of Hugo Public Works facility. <br /> <br />Approve Pay Request No. 20 from Ebert Construction for Public Works Facility <br /> <br />Ebert Construction had submitted an application for payment for the City of Hugo Public Works <br />Facility project in the amount of $123,360.60. The quantities completed to date had been <br />reviewed and agreed upon by the architect, contractor and City staff. The amount indicated <br />above reflected the work certified through May 31, 2022, with a 5% retainage applied. Total <br />retainage being held for the project to date was $480,531.08. Adoption of the Consent Agenda <br />approved Pay Request No. 20 in the amount of $123,360.60 to Ebert Construction for the <br />construction of the City of Hugo Public Works facility. <br /> <br />Approve Site Plan for Liberty Classical Academy for Property Located at 10158 122nd <br />Street North <br /> <br />Liberty Classical Academy had applied for approval of site plan for additional parking and <br />enhanced main entrance to the existing school located at 10158 122nd Street North. At its May <br />26, 2022, meeting, the Planning Commission considered the request and agreed that the request <br />met the requirements necessary to approve the site plan. The Planning Commission unanimously <br />recommended approval of the site plan request, subject to the conditions in the resolution. <br /> <br />City Administrator Bryan Bear explained this was the site of the old Withrow Elementary <br />School, and he presented the plan that showed a small parking lot addition and a new canopy at <br />the entrance. <br /> <br />Rebekah Hagstrom, Headmaster of Liberty Classical Academy, and Morgan Traynor of the <br />School Construction Committee were present to introduce the school to the City Council and <br />what the plans are for the property. Rebekah explained she had met with Bryan and Community <br />Development Director Rachel Juba a year ago prior to purchase. Liberty Classical Academy is a <br />pre-kindergarten to 12th grade school that opened in 2003 with 28 children in leased space in <br />Maplewood and growing to nearly 400 students. They would begin in Hugo with preschool to <br />second grade with enough space to add other grades. The rest of the students would be at St. Pius <br />with plans to move them to the new campus. They were also looking at purchasing additional <br />adjacent land. The school is a classical and faith-based school open to students of all <br />backgrounds, and she said they looked forward to being a part of the community. <br /> <br />Strub said he had received many inquiries about what was going on at the school site and asked <br />if they could put up a sign. Rebekah responded they had hoped to hold a neighborhood meeting, <br />but the purchase process got extended. They also found out there was a 60-day maximum time <br />for temporary signs and concerned about putting it out too soon. They hoped to put the flags up <br />soon and probably do a ribbon cutting and have the community attend. <br /> <br />Weidt asked about a website, and they shared it was www.libertyclassicalacademy.org. <br />
