PLANNING COMMISSION UPDATE: <br /> <br />At its September 8, 2022, meeting the Planning Commission held a public hearing and <br />considered the request. There were two people that spoke during the public hearing. One person <br />asked about additional parking on other City owned property to resolve any parking shortages. <br />Staff stated that parking will be evaluated with each phase per the uses proposed, but that the <br />City may consider other ideas to accommodate parking. They also asked about drainage for the <br />property. Staff stated the plan will be required to meet the stormwater management regulations <br />for developments. The other person that spoke during the public hearing noted the DNR <br />comment letter that was in the agenda packet. They were concerned about the building setbacks <br />being close to Egg Lake and stated she hopes the City is a good steward of the natural resources <br />as the City grows. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission discussed the following: <br /> <br />• Concerns over the not having enough parking, but they were comfortable with <br />alternatives to parking and evaluating the parking with each phase. <br />• Questions about the DNR letter. The applicant and staff dicussed the mitigation measures <br />that are in place with the plan in regards to wetland and stormwater management. <br />• Discussed the PUD flexibility and recognized the site is difficult to develop without <br />flexibility.
