STATEMENT OF SUPPORT FOR THE EXPANSION AND DEVELOPMENT OF HUGO ESTATES <br /> <br />Dear Chair, Commissioners and Staff: <br /> <br />I own and operate a location of Tjernlund Products at 5564 152nd St N; nearby the parcels proposed for <br />development. <br />This proposal provides additional affordable living options and matches the character of the surrounding <br />area. More affordable options, with several employers within walking distance, will further strengthen <br />this neighborhood which borders downtown Hugo. <br />It is also important to understand that this parcel no longer makes sense as an I-3 designation based on <br />the surrounding character. I-3 can potentially be developed into junkyards or semi-truck terminals <br />among other industrial applications. Any nearby residents that oppose this should recognize this re- <br />zoning opportunity as a chance to create a further buffer between their neighborhood and nearby <br />industrial locations. <br />I support this proposal as written and encourage the Planning Commission to approve it. <br /> <br />Sincerely, <br />/s/ Andrew Tjernlund <br />Tjernlund Products
