Page | 4 <br /> <br />• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude. <br />• Class A commercial driver’s license with Tank Vehicle (N) endorsement or the ability <br />to obtain one within 6 months. <br />• Possesses at least a Class D water operator’s license and Class S-D Collection system <br />license or equivalent. <br /> <br />• Ability to attend employer-required training and obtain additional water and <br />wastewater licenses as directed. <br /> Preferred Qualifications: <br />• Two-year degree in a related program or progressively responsible Public Works <br />experience <br />• Three or more years of supervisory experience. <br /> <br />Working Conditions and Physical Requirements <br />Majority of time is spent outdoors performing work under a variety of adverse and stressful <br />conditions. Some tasks are performed indoors and in confined spaces or at various heights. <br />Regularly uses fine motors skills to coordinate eyes, hands, and feet for the operation of a variety <br />of public works tools, machines and equipment. Regularly uses large motor skills to exert <br />moderate to considerable physical effort while performing a variety of movements such as <br />bending, crouching, twisting/turning, digging, lifting and climbing. Regularly lifts and <br />manipulates objects such as manhole covers, plow blades and equipment weighing up to 70 <br />pounds. All vision abilities and senses, with the exception of taste, may be used depending on the <br />particular task. Exposure to irritants/fumes, hazardous substances such as chlorine/hot <br />asphalt/tar/fuels, temperatures extremes, vibrations, infectious diseases, dust and smoke, and <br />noise can be occasional to frequent. Must be able to work safely and effectively in traffic <br />situations. Works on weekends, evenings, and during the night with shifts that can last 12 hours <br />or more during snow plowing and emergency situations. <br /> <br />The City of Hugo is an Equal Opportunity Employer in compliance with federal legislation.
