Shorts can be worn during training when appropriate. <br />Department issued: <br /> Shirt <br /> Jacket <br /> Jumpsuit <br /> Long pants <br /> Hi Vis Vest <br /> Tennis shoes or boots <br /> <br />Shorts maycan be worn in replacement of long pants during training when <br />appropriate. <br /> <br />24.4 Turn-out Gear <br />All Hugo Fire Department personnel must wear turn-out gear with a Hi Vis vest on <br />all roadway calls. All Hugo Fire Department personnel responding in a command <br />vehicle must wear a Class C Uniform. <br /> <br />Fire Department employees are required to wear class “B” uniforms to all Fire <br />Department and City functions unless otherwise noted. Class “C” uniforms at a <br />minimum must be worn for training and drill nights. Failure to comply with this <br />policy may lead to disciplinary action. If responding to a call other than on a <br />roadway, firefighters must wear a Class “C” uniform with long pants. <br /> <br />24.5 Articles not allowed in Uniforms <br />Personnel may not wear oOpen toe shoes or high heels. High hHeels are described <br />as shoes with an angled sole where the heel is over 3 inches in length and is raised <br />above the ball of the foota 90-degree heel rest that covers the bottom of the shoe <br />heel and not more than 2” in height measured from bottom of foot to walking <br />surface. This will pertain to shoes/boots, unless they are provided by the fire <br />department. <br /> <br />24.6 Equipment Sign-Out Sheet <br /> <br />To track the receipt and distribution of all Fire Department equipment and, <br />including uniforms, all Fire Department employees are required to sign a <br />department issued equipment sign-out sheet listing all items when issued or <br />returned. <br /> <br /> <br />24.2 Firefighter Facial Hair Policy: In compliance with O.S.H.A Respiratory Protection <br />Standard, 29 CFR 1910.134, the City of Hugo Fire Department prohibits facial hair <br />on fire fighters, except for mustaches and side burns (no longer than 3/4 inches or <br />longer than the top of the ear lobe). Any other facial hair is prohibited. This policy <br />is enforceable the day of hire. Personnel who fail to comply with this policy are <br />subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
