Call to Order Mayor Weidt called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. COUNCIL PRESENT: Klein, Miron, Petryk, Strub, Weidt COUNCIL ABSENT: None OTHERS PRESENT: City Administrator Bryan Bear, City Attorney Dave Snyder, City Engineer Mark Erichson, Community Development Director Rachel Juba, City Clerk Michele Lindau Approve Minutes for the July 18, 2022, City Council Meeting Miron made motion, Klein seconded, to approve the minutes for the regular Council meeting held on July 18, 2022, as presented. All Ayes. Motion carried. Approve Minutes for the July 25, 2022, Preliminary Budget Workshop Klein made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the minutes for the Preliminary Budget Workshop held on July 25, 2022, as presented. All Ayes. Motion carried. Approval of Agenda Weidt made motion, Klein seconded, to approve the agenda as presented. All Ayes. Motion carried Approve Special Event Permit for Ribfest on September 24, 2022 The Hugo Lions Club requested approval of a Special Event Permit to hold Ribfest on September 24, 2022, at Hanifl Park Shelter and Fields. This fundraising event would consist of a rib cooking contest and Corn Hole tournament. Lions Member Jason Schwieger presented their plan to Council and requested the Council co-sponsor the event by waiving the Special Event Permit fee and providing Washington County deputies. Jason explained the Rib Contest was usually held during Good Neighbor Days but became too big of an event. He said one of the judges would be the Mayor and he was hoping to get someone from Washington County Water Rescue. In addition, there would be professional judges from the Kansas City Barbeque Society. Minutes HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING HUGO CITY HALL MONDAY, AUGUST 1, 2022 – 7 P.M.
