Motion carried. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes for March 23, 2023, Solar Ordinance Workshop <br /> <br />Miron made motion, Klein seconded, to approve the minutes for the Planning Commission and <br />City Council joint workshop on the solar ordinance held on March 23, 2023, as presented. <br /> <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Approval of Agenda <br /> <br />Weidt made motion, Klein seconded, to approve the agenda as amended by adding the invite to <br />the White Bear Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting. <br /> <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Fire Department and M Health Fairview EMS Annual Report <br /> <br />Fire Chief Jim Compton, Jr. presented a PowerPoint to Council on the annual report for the Fire <br />Department. He provided a breakdown of the roles of the 27 members saying there were a few <br />open positions. The department had responded to a total of 380 calls in 2023. Ninety were <br />alarm calls mainly due to routine maintenance. They responded to 66 fire calls, and Compton <br />provided a breakdown of those types of calls. This was the third year assisting MHealth <br />Fairview, and they were called out 166 times to assist them. Motor vehicle accidents made up 31 <br />of those calls, which required firefighter skills for extrication, scene cleanup, and traffic control. <br />Trends showed there was a 7% increase in call volume, and Compton predicted it was likely to <br />grow due to growth in the City.
