Finalize agreement with City <br />of Hugo <br />1.a – City of Hugo & FL Historical Society contract complete. <br />1.b – Contract transitioned to new non‐profit. <br />2. Form new nonprofit: <br />Hopkins Schoolhouse & <br />Heritage Center <br />2.a – New organization name reserved through MN <br />Secretary of State’s Office. <br />2.b – Incorporated as a nonprofit organization with the MN <br />Secretary of State’s Office. <br />2.c – Application submitted for Employer Identification <br />Number/EIN Obtained. <br />2.d – IRS Form 1023 and Application for Tax‐Exempt Status <br />submitted to IRS/Determination Letter Obtained. <br />2.e – Application submitted to State of Minnesota for Sales <br />Tax Exemption. <br />2.f – Registration as charity with the MN Attorney General’s <br />Office Charities Division. <br />2.f – Recruit minimum of 10 total board members and 25 <br />total volunteers. <br />2.g – Long term business plan complete. <br />3. Advance Progress on <br />Restoration of Building <br />3.a – Trash removed from interior of building, historical <br />artifacts from building interior catalogued. <br />3.b – Temporary cover removed, and permanent repair of <br />roof and chimney completed. <br />3.c – Soffit and front stairs repaired. <br />4. Advance Improvements on <br />Schoolhouse Grounds <br />4.a – Trash and debris removed from the site. <br />4.b – Trail cameras installed as added security measure. <br />4.c – Report produced summarizing community input on <br />trail stop amenities. <br />4.d – Initial schoolhouse grounds plan submitted to the City <br />of Hugo for approval. <br />5. Raise funding/donated <br />services sufficient to support <br />repairs on. exterior of the <br />building <br />5.a – Support sufficient for repair of roof and soffit. <br />5.b – Support sufficient for repair of chimney. <br />5.c – 50% of funds necessary for repair of siding and <br />windows. <br />*Automatic approval will be granted if 80% of measures (16/20) are complete at the end of the period.
