May 16th, 2023
Bryan Bear
City Administrator
Hugo City Hall
14669 Fitzgerald Avenue N
Hugo, MN 55038

Dear Mr. Bear,
Please accept this letter as a formal notification of my resignation as Administrative Intern for the City of
Hugo. My last day will be June 2nd, 2023.
I would like to thank you, Hugo City Staff, and the Hugo City Council for mentoring me and providing
me with an exceptional internship experience. Throughout my seven months with the City, I was able to
work on several major projects across multiple departments that helped improve various administrative
functions. These projects expanded my knowledge of local government while allowing me to develop a
foundational skillset in time management and critical thinking which is transferrable to any position.
Everyone at City Hall were a pleasure to work and were always willing to assist me if I ran into any
questions. Their passion for providing excellent municipal services created a positive working
environment which made me proud of the work I accomplished.
On June 12th, I will be starting a new position as a Category Analyst with Best Buy. While this position
will present itself with a learning curve, I am ready to take the challenge head-on. Furthermore, I will
continue to attend graduate school at Hamline University to work towards obtaining my MBA. I am
expected to graduate in August of 2024.
This administrative internship experience helped me develop as a person more than I could have ever
imagined. I will be forever grateful for this opportunity and wish the City continued success in making
Hugo a great place to live.

Sincerely,
Joseph Hinzman
