BOARD OF ZONING UPDATE: <br /> <br />At its August 24, 2023, meeting the Board of Zoning held a public hearing and considered the <br />request. There were three letters submitted for the public record (included as an attachment). <br />There was only the applicant at the public hearing to speak. Staff outlined the variance approval <br />criteria and staff recommended approval of the variance request. <br /> <br />The Board agreed that due to the unusual circumstances that led to the construction of the <br />window wells, there are practical difficulties in meeting the ordinance standard. They <br />unanimously recommended approval of the variance request to the City Council. <br /> <br />2. DESCRIPTION OF REQUEST: <br /> <br />The applicant is requesting a variance to allow window wells to encroach 3 feet, 8 inches into the <br />required side yard setback, where 2 feet is allowed by ordinance. The two window wells are <br />generally located on the north and south side of the house. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
