The bond request is based on the recommendations <br />of a community facilities planning team, along <br />with feedback gathered during several community <br />meetings and two district-wide surveys. The request <br />will include the following projects: <br />Replacing Andersen <br />Elementary, preferably <br />in Bayport <br />• Increased capacity to <br />address growth, as <br />well as relieve pressure <br />at Afton-Lakeland <br />Elementary <br />• Flexible learning spaces <br />and modern learning <br />environments <br />• Designated spaces for <br />music, media, art and <br />special education <br />• Larger gymnasium, <br />cafeteria and other <br />community/gathering <br />spaces <br />• Larger campus with <br />access to playing fields <br />and green space, and <br />safer traffic flow <br />Construction of <br />additional classroom <br />spaces and a new <br />gymnasium at Oak-Land <br />Middle School <br />• Increased capacity to <br />address future growth <br />• Larger gymnasium and <br />adequately-sized media <br />center <br />• Better circulation with <br />larger hallways <br />• New commons area in <br />the center of the building <br />Safety and security <br />improvements <br />throughout district <br />facilities, including a <br />secured front entrance <br />addition and remodel <br />at Stillwater Area High <br />School <br />• Remodel the front <br />entryway at Stillwater <br />Area High School <br />for better visibility, <br />increased security, and <br />improved traffic flow <br />• Add security strobe lights <br />in all buildings for high <br />noise areas and outdoor <br />spaces to alert staff and <br />students of an emergency <br />• Add security glazing on <br />windows at key points <br />for schools that don’t <br />already have this <br /> <br />New learning spaces for Fall 2026 <br />With approval of the bond, facility improvements would be completed by Fall <br />2026.
