RESOLUTION NO. 2023 - 32 <br />A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE COST TO BE ASSESSED AND ORDERING <br />PREPARATION OF PROPOSED ASSESSMENT ROLL <br />FOR THE 2023 BIRCH TREE PONDS AREA IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT <br />CITY OF HUGO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MN <br />WHEREAS estimated costs have been calculated for the 2023 Birch Tree Ponds Area Improvements consisting of the following roadway improvements: •Partial road reconstruction for Foxhill Avenue North, 138th Street North, Geneva AvenueNorth, 135th Street North, 135th Court North, Freeland Avenue North, Freela nd CourtNorth and Fountain Ave north of Egg Lake Road•Mill and overlay improvements on Fountain Ave south of Egg Lake RoadThe estimated cost for such improvements is $1,959,000. That portion of the project that is assessable is the roadway improvements with estimated costs is $672,900.00; and NOW, THEREFORE, IT BE RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Hugo, Minnesota, as follows: 1.The portion of the cost of the roadway improvement is hereby declared to be $1,959,000;and the portion of the cost to be assessed against benefited property owners is declared tobe $672,900.00.2.Assessments shall be payable in equal annual installments extending over a period of 10years, the first of the installments to be payable on or before the first Monday in January2024 and shall bear interest at the rate of 5 .25 percent per annum from the date of theadoption of the assessment resolution.3.The city clerk, with the assistance of the city engineer, shall forthwith calculate the properamount to be specially assessed for such improvement against every assessable lot, piece orparcel of land within the district affected, without regard to cash valuation, as provided bylaw, and he shall file a copy of such proposed assessment in his office for public inspection.4.The clerk shall upon the completion of such proposed assessment, notify the councilthereof.Council members voting AYE: Klein, Miron, Petryk, Strub, Weidt Council members voting NAY: None Qth A Whereupon said resolution was declared passed and adopted this l¼�s-'fomweidt, Mayor ATTEST: '-fv'. . � Michele Lindau, City Clerk
