<br />BACKGROUND MEMO FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON DECEMBER 4, 2023 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />D.1 Approval of Minutes for the November 20, 2023 Council Meeting <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the minutes for the City Council meeting held on November <br />20, 2023, as presented. <br /> <br />F.1 Approval of Regular Firefighter Status for Allysa Nadeau, Darek Albertson, and Steve <br />Albertson and Swearing In <br /> <br />On December 6, 2021, Council approved the hiring of Allysa Nadeau, Darek Albertson, and <br />Steve Albertson as probationary firefighters. All three have completed the necessary <br />requirements to complete their probation. Staff recommends Council approve Allysa, Darek, <br />and Steve as regular firefighters and direct Fire Chief Jim Compton, Jr. to perform the swearing <br />in. <br /> <br />F.2 Hugo Yellow Ribbon Update – Chuck Haas <br /> <br />Chuck Haas will be in attendance to provide an update on Hugo Yellow Ribbon activities. <br /> <br />F.3 Presentation of Certificates to Burger Night Sponsors and Award to Sponsor of the <br />Year - Brigadier General Dan Gabrielli <br /> <br />Brigadier General Dan Gabrielli will be in attendance to present Certificates of Appreciation to <br />the Burger Night sponsors and present the Sponsor of the Year Award to Fresh Paint. <br /> <br />G. 1 Approval of Claims <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the Claims Roster as presented. <br /> <br />G.2 Approve Hiring of Tony Delarosa and Kyle Anderson as Probationary Firefighters <br /> <br />The Hugo Fire Department Hiring Committee has completed the latest round of its hiring process <br />that started in the spring of 2023. Tony Delarosa and Kyle Anderson have successfully <br />completed all phases of the hiring process and are recommend as probationary fighters. Staff <br />recommends Council approve the hiring of Delarosa and Anderson as probationary firefighters <br />with a start date of Tuesday, December 5, 2023. <br /> <br />G.3 Approve Donation from the Hugo American Legion to the Hugo Fire Department <br /> <br />The Hugo American Legion is requesting to donate $1,000 to the Hugo Fire Department from <br />pull-tab proceeds for equipment and training. All donations to the Fire Department need to be <br />approved by the Council. Staff recommends Council approve the donation of $1,000 to the <br />Hugo Fire Department. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
