<br /> <br /> <br />CITY OF HUGO <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Bryan Bear, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Scott Anderson, Public Works Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Purchase of Bearcat Debris Loader <br /> <br />DATE: For the City Council Meeting of December 18, 2023 <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />Public Works staff is seeking Council authorization for the purchase of a Bearcat debris <br />loader (see attached picture) to assist crews in the cleanup of leaves and soft <br />vegetation debris from the landscaped areas of City owned property. Picture, if you <br />would, a debris blower that is similar in idea to a wood chipper. The debris loader is <br />towed behind a small dump truck with a debris box on the back. The truck pulls up <br />alongside a pile of leaves that have been collected from city property. The operator <br />uses the blower to vacuum up the pile and blow the leaves into the back of the truck. <br />This piece of equipment saves labor and time by increasing the efficiency of fall clean - <br />up activities. <br /> <br /> <br />If approved by the City Council, this mower would be purchased using the Mn /DOT <br />Cooperative Purchasing Venture (CPV) contract assuring that the City of Hugo will <br />receive the best price available while providing us with the necessary options to choose <br />from. <br /> <br />DESIRED ACTION <br /> <br />Staff recommends the City Council authorize the purchase of a Bearcat Debris Loader <br />and trailer kit as outlined in the quote from L.T.G. Power Equipment in the amount of <br />$9,003.60. <br />
