RESOLUTION NO. 2023-46 <br /> A RESOLUTION NOT TO WAIVE STATUTORY TORT LIABILITY LIMITS <br /> WHEREAS, cities obtaining liability coverage from the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust <br /> must decide whether or not to waive the statutory tort liability limits to the extent of the coverage <br /> purchased. <br /> WHEREAS, statutory tort liability limits would apply regardless of whether or not the city purchases <br /> optional excess liability coverage. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF HUGO: <br /> 1. The City of Hugo does not waive the statutory tort liability limits. <br /> 2. Claims to which the statutory municipal tort limits do not apply are not affected by this <br /> decision. <br /> Council members voting AYE: Klein, Miron, Petryk, Strub <br /> Council members voting NAY: None <br /> Whereupon said resolution was declared passed and adopted this 18th day of December, <br /> 2023. <br /> Tom Weidt, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Michele Lindau, City Clerk <br />
