<br />BACKGROUND MEMO FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON MARCH 4, 2024 <br /> <br /> <br />D.1 Minutes for the February 5, 2024, Council Meeting <br />D.3 Minutes for the February 13, 2024, HBA Business Breakfast <br />D.3 Minutes for the February 17, 2024, Fire Department Banquet <br />D.4 Minutes for the February 21, 2024, Open House on 2024 Street Project <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the above minutes as presented. <br /> <br />F.1 Washington County Update – Attorney Kevin Magnuson <br /> <br />Attorney Kevin Magnuson will provide an update on the Washington County Attorney’s Office <br />and trends in Washington County <br /> <br />F.2 Hopkins Schoolhouse Progress Report – Liz Cinqueonce <br /> <br />At its June 12, 2023, meeting, Council approved the 15-year lease agreement with the newly <br />formed Hopkins Schoolhouse and Heritage Center Committee. The committee will report to <br />Council on their progress in the last year and provide information on their next milestones. <br /> <br />F.3 Community Development Department Annual Report-Associate Planner Max Gort <br /> <br />Associate Planner Max Gort will present to Council the 2023 Community Development Annual <br />Report. <br /> <br />G. 1 Approval of Claims <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the Claims Roster as presented. <br /> <br />G.2 Approve Retirement of Building Inspector Terry Hagstrom <br /> <br />Terry Hagstrom was hired by the City and began employment as a Building Inspector on July 12, <br />2021. Terry has submitted his letter of retirement. Staff recommends Council approve the <br />retirement of Building Inspector Terry Hagstrom effective March 29, 2024. <br /> <br />G.3 Approve Performance Review for Senior Engineering Technician Liz Finnegan <br /> <br />Liz Finnegan was hired in March, 2019, as the City’s Senior Engineering Technician. Public <br />Works Director Scott Anderson recommends Council approve the performance review for Senior <br />Engineering Technician Liz Finnegan. <br /> <br />G.4 Approve Donation to the Hugo Fire Department from the Hugo American Legion <br /> <br />The Hugo American Legion has requested to donate $1,000 to the Hugo Fire Department from <br />pull-tab proceeds for equipment and training. All donations to the Fire Department must be <br />approved by the Council. Staff recommends Council approve the donation of $1,000 to the <br />Hugo Fire Department <br />
