Council Meeting Minutes for October 2, 2023 <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />Hugo Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Network President Chuck Haas <br />President Chuck Haas was in attendance to provide the Council an update on the Hugo Yellow <br />Ribbon Network activities. He began by saying the leadership of the YRN begins with Council’s <br />support and he referred to the certificates of appreciation that were mounted on the back wall of <br />the Council Chambers saying they were emblematic of the that support. Over the past three <br />months, the YRN participated in 17 different events including pheasant hunts, care packaging <br />events, Unit Family Days, burger nights, Veteran’s Rodeo, Shoot for the Troops, Lions golf <br />event, and provided financial aid to a number of military families. Over the past there months, <br />they had served over 2,000 service members and put in over 500 hours of volunteer time. The <br />YRN was recognized at the state level when a certificate of appreciation was presented to them <br />at the State Fair this year. Haas shared pictures of past events. Future events include the Secret <br />Santa Program, Washington County Shop with a Cop, University of MN concession stand at the <br />MN Gopher Games, and Bingo and meat raffles at the Hugo American Legion and Sal’s Angus <br />Grill. <br />Consent Agenda <br />Petryk made motion, Miron seconded, to approve the following Consent Agenda: <br />1.Approve Claims Roster <br />2.Approve Annual Performance Review for Accounting Clerk Amber Lozier <br />3.Approve Annual Performance Review for Finance Director Anna Wobse <br />4.Approve Donation to the Hugo Fire Department from the Hugo American Legion <br />5.Approve Recommendation from the EDA to Sponsor Kidz ‘n Biz Festival <br />6.Approve Pay Request No. 2 from Arnt Construction for 159th St/TH61 Improvements <br />7.Approve Hiring of Jim Roettger as a Temporary Seasonal Public Works Worker <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Approval of Claims <br />Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the Claims Roster as presented. <br />Approve Annual Performance Review for Accounting Clerk Amber Lozier <br />Amber Lozier was hired as the Finance and Public Works Administrative Assistant on October <br />8, 2018. On November 15, 2022, Amber was promoted to Accounting Clerk. Adoption of the <br />Consent Agenda approved the Annual Performance Review for Accounting Clerk Amber Lozier. <br />Approve Annual Performance Review for Finance Director Anna Wobse <br />Anna Wobse was hired as the City’s Accounting Clerk on October 27, 2008, and worked in <br />accounts payable and payroll functions. In March 2018, Council approved Anna as the new <br />Finance Coordinator and in October, 2021, as the new Finance Director. Adoption of the <br />Consent Agenda approved the annual performance review for Finance Director Anna Wobse.
