Hugo Downtown Framework Plan Final Plan & Design Guidelines <br /> <br /> <br /> Page 19 of 23 <br /> <br />Parking & Service Areas <br /> <br />• Within the downtown CBD, shared parking is encouraged to take advantage of varying <br />parking demands between mixed uses. <br /> <br />• Businesses are encouraged to establish or participate in a municipal parking district <br />providing shared, public parking with reductions in required on-site parking. <br /> <br />• Parking should not be located between a building and the street or main road the <br />building faces and be distributed around the building, especially to the side and back of <br />buildings. <br /> <br />• Parking adjacent to the street should be minimized; <br /> <br />• Where a parking lot is located along a street, the same zero-lot-line or setback <br />conditions of the adjacent buildings should be maintained with a wall, ornamental <br />fence, or similar landscape elements to continue the built edge along the street. <br /> <br />• Where a parking lot is located along a street, it should be well landscaped and <br />screened with a combination of fencing or wall plantings along the street edge. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Landscaped edge combines fence <br />with trees, low shrubs and ground <br />cover for parking lot screening and <br />buffering along the street <br />6’ zone between parking and <br />sidewalk with fence or wall <br />centered in zone
