Page 2 of 2 <br />Parks Commission Minutes <br />January 19, 2022 <br /> <br />Existing Parks and Trails- maintain existing parks and trails. The Commission would also like to draft a <br />park sign and landscaping replacement plan. They would also like to evaluate grading at Val Jean Park <br />per the neighborhood request. Neighbors were in the audience and shared their continued interest. <br /> <br />Community Parks- Finish construction of Lions Park, continue to evaluate Oneka Lake (Bernin) property, <br />Clear Water Creek Preserve Trails, Sunset Lake park and a vision of Irish Avenue Park. <br /> <br />Plan and Policies- utilize the Comprehensive Plan as a planning tool, respond to resident input. Review <br />development applications, and review the Park Naming Policy and Memorial Policy. <br /> <br />St. Pierre made a motion, Moore-Arcand seconded to approve the Parks, Recreation and Open Space <br />2022 Goals as drafted during the meeting. <br /> <br />All ayes, motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />3. 2022 Capital Improvement Plan <br /> <br />Denaway presented a draft of the 2022 – 2026 Capital Improvement Plan that was put together with <br />Staff and Finance Director, Anna Wobse. <br /> <br />Discussion included: North Star trail study, Oneka Lake (Bernin) property. The Commission prioritized <br />their community park projects. Lions Park construction is the priority, followed by the Bernin property <br />and Clearwater Creek Preserve. Sunset Lake is a lower priority and it was discussed that the new Public <br />Works building has put a new footprint on Irish Avenue Park and that impacts the timing of future <br />planning. <br /> <br />Tennyson made a motion, Moore-Arcand seconded to approve the 2022- 2026 Capital Improvement <br />Plan as drafted during the meeting. <br /> <br />All ayes, motion Carried. <br /> <br /> <br />4. Adjournment <br /> <br />St. Pierre made a motion, Schmid seconded to adjourn at 9:16 PM. <br /> <br />All ayes. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
