Sledding Party <br /> <br />Denaway suggested the annual Sledding Party be set for February 11, 2023 at Oak Shore Park 10:00am to <br />Noon. <br /> <br />All Parks Commissioners agreed. <br /> <br /> <br />5. 2022 Annual Report <br /> <br />Denaway presented the 2023 Parks Commission Annual Report. The Report included the North Star <br />Wetland Bank discussions, Freedom Trail reconstruction, pickleball court fencing in Arcand Park, <br />irrigation controllers purchased with grant funding, Santa Party and tree lighting ceremony, completion <br />of Peder Pedersen Pavilion and Lions Park, and residential development review. <br /> <br /> <br />6. 2023 Goal Setting <br /> <br />Denaway presented a draft of the 2023 Parks, Recreation and Open Space Goals. They included: <br /> <br />1. Develop network of multi-purpose Trails connecting neighborhoods to parks and open space, <br />2. Utilize facilities to provide active and passive recreation options for all Hugo residents <br />3. Manage and optimize all existing parks and trails <br />4. Expand Community Parks <br />5. Administer the Parks, Trails and Open Space plan and Policies <br /> <br />Action items included: constructing passive trails near Hugo Meadows, continue trail connectivity with <br />new developments and greenway spaces, repair existing parks and trails as needed, upgrade or replace <br />outdated park equipment, finalize North Star Trail Feasibility Study, pursue Wetland Banking application <br />process, support Washington County in completing the Hardwood Creek Regional Trail, draft a park sign <br />and landscaping replacement plan, improve Victor Square hardscape, repaint exterior and access <br />improvements to the Hanifl Shelter, continue to provide facilities with neighboring programing <br />partnerships and evaluate programming opportunities, evaluate the Bernin property plan, draft <br />construction plans for Clearwater Creek Preserve Trail improvements <br /> <br />Tennyson made a motion, Moore-Arcand second to approve the 2023 Parks, Recreation and Open Space <br />Commission Goals. <br /> <br />All aye. <br />Motion carried <br /> <br /> <br />7. Capital Improvement Planning <br /> <br />Denaway presented a draft Parks Capital Improvement Plan.
