Page 2 of 2 <br />Parks Commission Agenda <br />February 15, 2023 <br /> <br />Background <br />Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Commission <br />Meeting of March 15, 2023 <br />Hugo City Hall, 7:00 pm <br /> <br />Approve Minutes from February 15, 2023 Meeting <br />Staff recommends approval of the minutes of the Parks Commission meeting of February 15, 2023. <br />PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED MINUTES. <br /> <br />Bernin Property Master Planning <br />At the meeting of February 15, 2023, the Parks Commission reviewed the 2004 Bernin property master plan. <br />The Parks Commission discussed next steps including digitally redrawing the master plan document and <br />holding community meetings to gather further input on the plan. Staff will provide a cost estimate for <br />consultant services and an outline of next steps for consideration by the Parks Commission. <br />THE 2004 MASTER PLAN IS ATTACHED. <br /> <br />Park Sign Replacement Plan <br />The City of Hugo neighborhood parks have used a standard park sign. The signage in 8 parks is needing to be <br />replaced due to age and inevitable wear and tear. There are 9 parks that do not currently have a sign and the <br />Commission could choose to install one. There are 2 parks that have monument signs that are in good shape- <br />Lions Volunteer Park and Hanifl Fields Athletic Park. It is 2023 goal of the Parks Commission to draft a park <br />sign and landscaping replacement plan. Staff will review the existing signage and present options to the <br />Commission to start discussions on a replacement plan. <br />A MAP OF EXISTING PARKS IS ATTACHED. <br /> <br />Recreation Program Update <br />The Forest Lake YMCA is continuing Park Play Days at Hanifl Fields Athletic Park in 2023. Washington County <br />Library is partnering on programs outside of the library again.
