8 <br /> <br />Maintenance of this site will be important for success. Active management of all areas of the <br />Nguyen PV Plant are similar: dry and wet areas of the site are inspected annually followed by <br />maintenance necessary to encourage healthy growth. <br /> <br />1. During the germination year, the site will be mowed to control annual weed <br />development. Optimum cutting height is typically 4 to 6 inches. The mowing <br />should finely mulch the clippings to prevent smothering young plants. <br /> <br />2. In years following the first growing season, Integrated Vegetation Management <br />(IVM) services are utilized to control annual, biennial and perennial weed species <br />within the developing landscape. Typical IVM services include spot herbicide <br />spraying, spot mowing, and herbicide wicking.
