Sunset Lake <br />Park Hours <br />At the meeting of June <br />26, the Commission <br />changed the hours at the <br />city-owned properties on <br />Sunset Lake to close at <br />9:00 pm instead of <br />11:00pm per a resident <br />request. <br />Wetland Bank <br />Hydrology monitoring <br />continued in 2024 for the <br />prospective North Star <br />Wetland Bank. <br />Glacial Hills <br />Regional Trail <br />Washington County <br />moved forward with draft- <br />ing a master plan for the <br />GHRT following the pub- <br />lic engagement in 2023. <br />The preferred alignment <br />and amenities presented <br />to the Commission at its <br />September 18 meeting. <br />The Commission ap- <br />proved the trail design. <br /> <br /> <br />Bill the Juggler at the Peder Pedersen Pavilion <br />Recreation Programs <br />The City of Hugo hosted Bill the Juggler in Lions Park on Friday, July 12 at 6:30 <br />pm. This event was held in partnership with Washington County and funded with <br />money from Minnesota’s Art and Cultural Heritage Fund. The program was at- <br />tended by 20+ kids. It was an exceptionally hot evening. <br />The Santa Party and Mayor’s Tree Lighting was held on December 4 from 5:00- <br />7:00pm. Attendees were encouraged to bring a toy or food item for the Hugo Fire <br />Department’s Toy Drive benefiting the Hugo Good Neighbors Food Shelf. Santa <br />was available for photos, and activity bags were given to the first 50 kids. The <br />real holiday tree was planted in the fall, replacing the original balsam fir that was <br />struggling. The new larger tree was decorated with large lights and ornaments. <br />The Mayor lit the tree with a festive new switch. The event was attended by 70+ <br />kids.
